Yes, I get all that but the problem is Putin has been attacked from within by some of his generals that he is too soft. As long as Putin remains their leader, the war might drag out for a long time to his advantage. If not and a hardcore general takes over, the war will escalate much more quickly but perhaps to no one's advantage as it's very likely the whole world will go up in smoke.
