US is not cautious.US has been increasingly relying on violence as a main tool of their foreign policy, ever since USSR was dismantled.
If US was cautions, they would not have meddled in Ukraine. If US was cautions, it's politicians would have flown into Ukraine during Maidan to support an overthrow of a democratically elected government. If US was cautions, it would have listened to Russia's concerns. If US was cautions, it would have encouraged peace negotiations.
US did the opposite
If US was cautions, it wouldn't have insisted on continuing and escalating the war.
