IMO if the Ukraine (NATO-USA) within the next year cant:
(a) permanently knock out the Kerch Bridge
(b) break through from the current battlefront to Mariupol
. blocking the Russian landbridge to the Crimea,
then, more probable than not, a negotiated
settlement of this war will result in a much diminished
Ukraine (a Rump State) with the prospect of the Ukraine
loosing Odessa making it landlocked.
Here in Europe there is a growing intolerance among working
class people of the inflationary impact of this war on their
daily lives while E-Billions are being pumped into this war
without the prospect of settlement and a media spoon fed
by the USA that is benefiting from this war.
Anti-war RW Populism is growing in Europe as evidenced
in elections in Germany and France and demonstrations
against the E-Billions being used in housing/feeding millions
of Ukrainian refugees & others who are
radically changing the cultural composition of local communities.
Yesterday a group of locals commented to me: "We feel like
foreigners in our own country"
The anti-Ukrainian refugee movement seems to be led
by local Socialwelfarites ("me too" re benefits being given to the
Ukrainian refugees) & far right anarchists who are exploiting
the general drop in living standards
https://www.tortoisemedia.com/2024/07/19/ireland-is-turning-violently-against-migrants/
(This is merely a microcosm of what is happening across Europe ).
The general argument seems to be: "Charity begins at home"
in that Governments ought to first look after their own who
are in dire need.
While inflation has dramatically reduced the weekly essentials spend,
the housing demand caused by immigrants has created a housing
shortage putting home ownership/affordability out of the reach of average
working class people.
In summary, the sooner that this war is settled, the better it will be for
the unity of Europe & not that of the uncertain/expensive prolonged war.
