If China invaded Aus just as Russia has invaded the Ukraine, do you really think that the Ukraine would care?
IMO no, because opinion there would be led by Ukrainian Oligarchs who'd be devising ways of making a bob out of it.

How absurd is it for our Navy/airforce to be riding shotgun for Uncle Sam in the Taiwan Strait and in the South China Sea of which the Chinese strategy in this area is to secure its seabourne trade against US navy imposed trade sanctions which, if successful, would cripple our trade with China on which our economy depends.
