Even if components were sourced from China, and I'm not asserting they are, the West has limited options to deter such actions. Indeed, sanctions could be imposed on China, potentially leading to severe consequences. However, it's certain that such measures would disastrously impact global commerce, with Australia at the forefront of an economic downturn. Recall China's response to Australia's call for an investigation into COVID-19's origins? They restricted exports of coal, seafood, barley, and wine, which was a relatively minor action. The true critical issue is 'iron ore,' which China is unlikely to restrict due to its significance for their growth.

Imposing sanctions on China might, in fact, harm Western commerce more significantly. The COVID-19 pandemic has already demonstrated the challenges of managing goods and services amidst such disruptions. Reviewing the world index figures during the pandemic reveals alarming insights.

Addressing China's interactions with Russia, as with NATO/US dealings with Ukraine, presents no straightforward resolution. It is, in essence, a Catch-22 situation.
