Continued advocation of US/NATO/UK escalation into direct attacks deep into Russia to achieve a vaguely somewhat possible, face saving "better negotiating position" is by far the biggest, craziest bet the world has ever seen. History making craziness.

Like a mug punter on a losing streak playing a craps game in a mob casino and putting the family house and the families kidneys up as collateral for a winner takes all pot so he can tell his mates that he is finally a winner.

    New York Times

"The new document is a stark reminder that whoever is sworn in next Jan. 20 will confront a changed and far more volatile nuclear landscape than the one that existed just three years ago. President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia has repeatedly threatened the use of nuclear weapons against Ukraine, including during a crisis in October 2022, when Mr. Biden and his aides, looking at intercepts of conversations between senior Russian commanders, feared the likelihood of nuclear use might rise to 50 percent or even higher."

    50% odds!!!

and.... they almost rolled the dice when Keir (Sausage) Starmer met with Joe only weeks ago.

However, after a few days of quiet, the drum beat of escalate, escalate, escalate started up again.

Now the push remains in full swing by luminaries with stella track records (in not much in the real world) such as Stoltenberg, The many UK Winston Churchill wannabees: Boris, Lammy, Sausage, as well as naive and scary people like Denmark's PM, John Bolton, Blinken, Trudeau etc.

Aaah "but he is bluffing" they all re-assure each other nodding wisely over coffee eagerly trying to out hero each other far away from the battle field and no willingness to consider the perspective of one country under attack from the combined efforts of 32 countries.

A few sane people are left.

“It was an important moment,” Richard N. Haass, a former senior State Department and National Security Council official for several Republican presidents, and the president emeritus of the Council on Foreign Relations, noted in an interview. “..............the idea that nukes wouldn’t be used in a conventional conflict is not longer a safe assumption.”

Escalation has more than proven itself to most likely lead to more escalation.
