Or a nation's people could be oppressed for decades - like the people of Cuba:

    https://news.un.org/en/story/2023/11/1143112

    Excerpt:

“necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the United States of America against Cuba”.

despite its resolutions dating back to 1992 (Resolution 47/19), “the economic, commercial and financial embargo against Cuba is still in place”, and that "the adverse effects of such measures on the Cuban people and on Cuban nationals living in other countries”.

    Those in favour: 187
Those against: 2 (the US and Israel)
    Abstentions: 1 (Ukraine)

The US imposed sanctions on Cuba have been in place since 1960.

And of course the Americans have every right to invade a country - like Iraq, based on propaganda induced alleged intelligence on 'weapons of mass destruction' - but does the US not have such type weapons - perhaps some other nation should take similar steps to rid of US of it's 'mass arsenal of weapons'? But of course any nation that would/could try to would be labelled terrorists. American democracy - a sort of do as I say but not as I do. AIMO
