The Soviet Union was a disgusting, evil, barbaric empire that had to collapse. Forced deportations, forced mass starvations, forced cultural genocide, mass executions, the horrors of the Gulags among countless other crimes against humanity. Add to it the chroic decrepit corruption, total economic incompetence and you still can't understand why it collapsed.
