If there is a ceasefire and a truce based on the current battle lines , then you maintain that's giving Russia a win (a loose for the Ukraine)
But then you say that Russia seeking peace is something that Russia cant accomplish on the battlefield.
Russia has conquested the Crimea and about 60% of the already annexed oblasts . Sure its took 2 and a half years to echieve that and a massive loss of life but when it comes to war plebs and ideologues are always sacrificed and history will simply record it as yet another "ho-hum" war.
That's why war is a stupid way of resolving international conflict because even if the Ukraine drove back Russia to the pre 2013 borders , the war still wouldn't be over as evidenced in Israel and some African countries because NATO's encroachment on Russia's western/SW border is deemed by Russia as a grave National security threat.
While NATO had a win recruiting Finland & Sweden, it will likely loose Turkey IMO, because of the CIA's role in orchestrating the failed Turkish coup in 2016 and the CIA has still provided a US safe haven for the CIA's preferred president of Turkey just as Russia is giving a safe haven to Russia's preferred President of the Ukraine,.
Its interesting how western bigots can see the Russian implied plan to replace the current Ukrainian President by harbouring their preferred replacement while they cant see ditto with respect to the USA and Turkey!
