THETI Mapping: For The First Time, Russia Enters NEW Oblast From TWO Points Looking back I feel I gave the defensive fortifications built on the Dnipro border too much credit. For one they are not multi-layered, it's simply a continuous line along the Dnipro-Donetsk border with no other considerations for local topography of nearby settlements. It's not a viable location for infantry to defend but moreso acts as an obstacle against large-scale armored assaults which haven't been used to cross the border in these 2 instances anyways. And besides the defensive layer on the border the fortifications elsewhere are rather scarce. Much more work should've been done in mid-2024 to bolster defenses directly east and north of Novopalivka, not to mention other key towns like Ivanivka.
