Amazingly, there are still people out there, and unfortunately some on this thread too, who believe that Russia is in war with Ukraine.
Mitch McConnell, the Republican Senator, who was one of 3 senators who grilled the Pentagon Chief during a Senate hearing on 11/06, should put to rest any questions and confusions on who the parties in this war are. The US government has admitted that this is a proxy war between Russia and the USA, but the Senator raised the bar even higher by declaring that the USA must win this war.
"America's reputation is on the line. Will we defend Democratic allies against authoritarian aggressors?" he asked. "We don't want a headline at the end of this conflict that says Russia wins and America loses.”
