Hungary says EU’s Russian oil ban plan lacks security guarantee | Russia-Ukraine war News | Al JazeeraHungary and Slovakia say that there are "no immediate alternatives" to Russky oil and gas.
Guess what - that applies to the whole of Europe but they have their blinkers on. Further, if Germany does decide to use the Nord Stream 2 for gas, the Russkies have said that they will now only get half of the gas through ONE of two lines only - as Gazprom has said that they will use the onshore capacity of Nord Stream 2 for the domestic gas market. They will use it to develop gas supplies for NW Russia so only half the pipeline's capacity would be available for Europe.
It appears that the greater the "Sanctions" - the more it is working for the Russkies, enriching them further! Sadly what we have failed to realise is that oil supply is getting lower (I read many years ago that the House of Saud had run out of the easy stuff and had to go into the more costly extraction areas). The Russkies still have abundant cheap supply of oil and gas and more coming with global warming.
Oh, the tangled web we weave!!!!!
Hungary and Slovakia have previously saidthey will not support the sanctionsagainst Russian energy that the EU is preparing over the war in Ukraine, insisting that they are too reliant on those supplies and there are no immediate alternatives.
