Just like your sink analogy, none of us know what the Russians true objectives are. j Perhaps Vlad is taking a bite out of the east of Ukraine to link up the Crimean with the 2 breakaway states so as to provide a buffer/safe zone? If (and this is only hypothetical) he achieves this and doesn’t push further west, halts his troop movements and calls a truce because he’s reached his objective? Does that deescalate the situation? Would that overfill your sink?
