To put that in perspective, a single LNG cargo ship can hold roughly 125,000-175,000 cubic meters of natural gas – enough energy to warm 17 million British homes for one winter day.

VILNIUS/WARSAW, Feb 28 (Reuters) - A natural gas pipeline called GIPL linking Poland and Lithuania will open on May 1, earlier than the scheduled mid-2022 start, linking the Polish grid with a route to a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in Lithuania.


Japan is discussing with the European Union about coordinating further diversion of part of its liquefied natural gas imports to Europe, government sources said Saturday, as the region faces the threat of Russia restricting its gas exports.

Algerian LNG vessel arrives in Turkiye
Algeria's LNG carrier, Ougarta, reached Turkiye on Wednesday, Feb. 9, according to the latest ship tracking data.The vessel, which has a capacity of 171,800 cubic meters, left Algeria's port of Arzew on Feb. 4 and arrived at its final destination, the Marmara Ereglisi LNG Terminal on Wednesday at 22.00 local time (1900 GMT)

Shell to exit Russia after Ukraine invasion, joining BP
The company also plans to end its involvement in the Nord Stream 2 Baltic gas pipeline linking Russia to Germany, which it helped finance as a part of a consortium of companies. Germany last week halted the project.
