Ok. Nord Stream will probably go ahead because conflict is unlikely IMO. Putin hasn't amassed enough troops to do the job

As I see it, Ukraine doesn't need to align with anyone in the longer term, with Poland the possible exception.

Outside interests may continue to nobble Ukrainian politicians, for now, however I'm hopeful that Ukraine's sense of identity will defeat corruption.
