By the look of this map from a week ago, it would be
difficult for a reasonable person to say that the
Ukrainian Army was winning.

On the contrary, it looks like Russia is over half ways there
to its objective of establishing a buffer zone along the
Russian /Ukraine border.

Once it achieves this, IMO, it will establish a Russian border
incorporating the captured Ukrainian territory and that any
Ukrainian incursions into the captured territory will be met
with massive Russian bmbardments of Kiev until its an
unhabitable ruin.
