One can only speculate the blitzkrieg was calculated to overwhelm the Ukies. That was probably the RF mistake of limited clinical strikes. Do you see this type of strategy in Iraq? The problem I see it currently is that given some limited success or encouragement that RF could not even take over Donbas with some type of news out of a Kharkiv retreat, the policy of testing the envelope of tolerance is round 2 of calling Putin's bluff by shifting the excuse of provocation to Finland/Sweden. Both these countries are exploiting RF weakness or distraction in opening up a second front in the war. I don't know what % of RF troops are allocated to this conflict on Ukies. If they are stretched as in pretty much allocated, then Putin will have a problem. I don't know if Putin has done his homework thoroughly as in anticipating and stress testing all the scenarios with counter solutions, etc. That will remain to be seen. Either way I prefer if we did n ot have this war but if you compare to the previous conflict, there were many firsts of which we cannot look back to anticipate possible actions. This is the reality of conflicts. You posting the rest of the garbage is just confirmation bias for your so called moral fibre. Don't fall into this G v E zero sum game because this will only bring on nukes as a possibility. There is this joke I read (fact or fictional) but when Nixon went to visit Mao, he gloated that US has enough nukes to destroy the world over MANY times and Zhou said "we only have enough to destroy the world once". So given that "size does matter" you have to wonder why the RF are so threatened when they could blow up the world more than anyone else? The same goes with aircraft carriers, US has enough to control all continents but have these carriers extended their useful strategic advantage in blue waters given hypersonic missiles cannot be destroyed as yet? These are just some of my logical thoughts, they are not profound but if a mug like myself can ask them, there are more deep thinkers by far who can see much clearer than I.

AJ....with all your musings, considerations and exploration of rabbit warrens and their holes has it ever occurred to you Putin might just be a deluded maniac and tyrant and that's what this is all about ?
