You might need to go back to school and learn a little thing called retaliatory sanctions - ie. when you start to impose crippling sanctions against a country, expect them to retaliate with their own sanctions.

You do understand Russian are suffering from both US and EU sanctions, right?

Are they suppose to take it without any responses?

Maybe you were thinking Russia is supposed to be like Iraq or Afghanistan who can't impose any sanctions of their own, against the US and EU countries?
