Like he reported "initially weather the storm" and I thought the same since like a majority I thought Putin would have taken Ukraine in a few days. That report was 4 days ago when the invasion started but now Western countries are rallying and using even more heavy sanction fuelled by ever increasing global condemnation of the invasion. This is why Putin used nuclear threat a few days ago saying these sanction are "illegal" when his initial nuclear threat was about sending in foreign troops.

He didn't planned for such sanctions as he thought the invasion wouldn't last this long and he had taken Ukraine in a few days with minimal blood shed and quick change of government like what happened in Crimea, Luhansk and Donetsk so he can ride out those lesser sanction. The longer this goes, the more ever increasing global condemnation with more casualty on both side and more news coverage for the world to see, and harsher sanction, this has crashed the Russian economy now. He doesn't care but the Russian citizen will.
