It will take both sides to agree to a ceasefire.

The longer this goes the more death and destruction.
We can wish for victory/defeat of the RF but that wont make it so. At some point we have to recognise that;
Diplomacy since 2008 NATO meeting drew a red line under Ukraine joining NATO - was ignored
2014 coup/popular (with some) violent uprising in Kyiv led to a civil war
Minsk Agreement was never enforced
Ukraine claimed in 2021 that it would take Crimea by military force...
