My sentiment exactly. The planning was in stages, Crimea was not a thought bubble. The Malaysian jet shooting incident delayed the plans temporarily.
Unfortunately for us disaffected audience, this is a road map for the future. The minute Biden was elected I had a bad feeling ideology over took pragmatism. During the Trump years, the focus was on her natural ally. Biden just push them together, one with a growing economy and the other has all the resources to supply. A natural fit politically and culturally.
Only Zelensky was clutching straw at the hope of NATO coming to the rescue. Biden declared no US forces will come and offers a safe passage are very conspicuous signals. The desperate sanctions to the max is the other sign all is not well with the Ukraine army. Almost game over as peace talk is probably focused on the fate of Zelensky.
