I'm hoping that Ukraine's politics matures as a consequence of this experience.
Until now, both the pro-Putin and pro-west leaders in Ukraine come accross to me as either drongos or corrupt drongos.
On Russia, the risk of longer term disintegration comes from the east. Such risks are nearly always internal. Risks of longer term Russian disintegration have nothing to do with the EU.
