It almost seems impossible that common sense will prevail , there seems to be quite the push towards something catastrophic.

It is very foolish to discount warnings from a nuclear power about the possible use of them in an existential threat.


Israel has been doing that since they developed the samson option, and no one seems to think they wouldn't follow thru, but Russia truly does have the nuclear potential to end life on earth even without cobalt weapons.

The Russians are likely to be very alarmed at the prospect of long range weapons in the hands of Ukraine and will almost certainly scale up the carnage they excel at in response.

The total lack of real diplomacy is not a good thing during a time of saber rattling that has reached a new level, but there could well be a plan do scale things back a bit in this sick game of bluff.
