Thats why they loved him so much over here.
The US and its allies had free reign in that era.
He was hated in Russia.
He conformed to the patronising stereotype of Russia : drunks, whores, gold diggers, mafia, Commies, oligarchs, inefficiency, doping, female assassins with broken English.
Are there ANY positive "types" in the Western mindset regard ANY aspect of Russia?
I can't think of any. Can you?
Its a deeply ingrained colonial bigoted mindset. Pure and simple.
And that forms the narrative we are fed year after year. Putin or no Putin.
