I have said many times that I do not know what Putin wants, and, I have no position on the issue.


I see many writers - historians, politicians, journalists say that Putin wants Ukraine - to be Russia - because that's what he's said for years, that's what he yearns for etc.

they may be right. Ditto many people have said that he wants a NATO free Ukraine - and, argue what you argue.

there are also a variety of other opinions -


all I say is - that I do not know ---- and, I believe that no one other than Putin knows his exact objectives.


If he wanted to test the resolve of the EU - he's got that done already - loud and clear.

An interesting event so far.

I really don't mind which way it goes as long as the fighting stops asap-- although it seems to me that it would be smart to have a demilitarized zone somehow between Russia and the West - assuming that humans continue on their infantile love affair with war
