@TillLindemannit's hard to imagine anyone can't see that Ukraine's fight against the Russian invaders is just a proxy war on behalf of the US and its Western Allies.
the US and allies including Australia are funding and supplying war materiel for Ukraine without which the war might already be finished.
but what's the war about anyway? Any genuine answer to that won't be available in western MSM including our ABC, which can honestly be described as little more than propaganda outlets.
independent journalist Caitlin Johnstone provided some answers in her essay on medium.com in the past week entitled "Empire To Expand NATO In Response To War Caused by NATO Expansion."
The US has had Russia in its sights for decades and is happy to keep Ukraine fighting to the last Ukrainian and so help maintain production and profits of the US military/industrial complex.
its worth logging comments by US' president Biden on the Security Assistance to Ukraine delivered May 3 at the Lockheed Martin Pike County Operations in Troy, Alabama.
here's some excerpts from Biden's speech:
"And — and we know that the United States is leading our Allies and partners around the world to make sure that courageous Ukrainians who are fighting for the future of their nation have the weapons and the capacity and ammunition and equipment to defend themselves against Putin’s brutal war. A lot of war crimes being committed."
"And because of you — in this first, really, battle, if you will — for that to determine whether that’s going to happen is because you’re making it possible. You’re making it possible for the Ukrainian people to defend themselves without us having to risk getting in a third world war by sending in American soldiers fighting Russian soldiers."
"There’s something else here that — to be understand. Being the arsenal of democracy also means good-paying jobs for American workers in Alabama and the states all across America where defense equipment is manufactured and assembled."
"Two hundred and sixty-five people here at this plant are directly employed working on the Javelin program. All told, Lockheed Martin has brought nearly 3,000 jobs to Alabama."
his comments are available on a page marked whitehouse.gov.
And then we have Australia's new PM stepping seemingly obliviously into the fray last weekend.
Michelle Grattan, writing in The Conversation on Monday put it this way.
"Australia has given Ukraine another $A100 million in military aid, and Anthony Albanese has pledged Australia will continue support for the embattled country “for as long as it takes for Ukraine to emerge victorious”.
Australia's latest military aid package to Ukraine brings to about A$388 million in total military assistance, making Australia the largest non-NATO contributor to Ukraine's defence, Grattan said.
Australia's involvement in another European war deepens.
TillLindemann, it's not our fight.
