Everybody is going to have a different take on things, for all sorts of reasons, we all have biases.
The old story about the three witnesses to a car crash comes to mind. The investigator talks to all three witnesses and hears three different versions of what happened based on their perspective.... Disingenuous or not, that is just how the world works. Of course satellite imagery, video footage and an internet archive help narrow that truth right down.
