A nice thought. I'm a supporter of national identity and true independence to use one's own national resources and benefit the citizens of the nation first and foremost.

My problem is that the coalition supplying billions of dollars of resources to Ukrainian fighters do not, based on historical evidence, share my idyllic hope for that nation.

Instead, in a post Putin epoch, Ukrainians will be tied to a crushing financial slavery by IMF loans, while a small elite help themselves to the country's wealth and the media proclaims true (US/NATO style) democracy has been granted to a nation.
