VIetnam was closer to American growth, the future superpowers of the world, close to Canada, America, Australia, NZ and of course Asia admittedly not England.

But we cannot base everything in global geopolitics on England. America, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada are very important now and the Beijing a Xitler tyranny needs to be thwarted.

Ukraine and Russia’s insane nonsensical war mongering is distasteful and worrying in terms of its not so close but regional proximity to England, England is a five eyes power, but it is not the main game, Beijing and what is happening in a South China Sea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Sri Lanka, Laos is far more important.

I do not even think England needs to be protected, Ukraine and Russia fighting may not spill out of Eastern Europe. Western Europe, EU members like Germany and Netherlands do not appear too worried.

England is a nuclear power and has a high degree of quality nuclear deterrence. it could conceivably even take on Russia and deal with Russia through strikes on Moscow and St Petersburg. I think it even has anti nuclear missiles to protect itself so England hardly needs protection from Russia and what is happening in Ukraine.
