naive to think Ukraine does all the negotiation ... very simplistic

naive ??
naive is what Putin was when he underestimated these guys .
They are bloody determined and have said they'll fight regardless of what help they get .
They have the right to speak for themselves and apart from that they've earned that right by their courage .

Same old story from trolls that htis is a proxy war and the idea of Ukraine being dominated by NATO and the US suits the picture some like to try and paint but it's not like that at all .
Ukraine are at the wheel , not US not NATO at all .

Perhaps they will negotiate but they aren't ready at this stage because they think Putin can be forced back and are very unwuilling to give up more territory .
Putin equally unready as he wants all of Donbas and Odessa .
Each will want, at least ,a better bargaining position than they have at present .
Ukraine is focussed and determined .
Putin must save face .
