I'm not going to get into blame games, I just wanted to make an overall point here. It's sad to see trade being severed between Russia & the EU. Trade helps keep wars in check. Seeing trade between Russia & EU disintegrate is a dangerous signal for the future IMO. The EU re-aligns it's resource needs outside of Russia, and Russia sells to China etc.
Russia & EU no longer have those trade links, meaning it's far easier to envisage militarily hurting each other without economic repercussions for the attacker. Bad territory to be in.
