They are dodging this is because you need their commodities more than they need your products, there are substitutes for your products but there is no substitute to their commodities. Russia just signed a trade deal with Turkiye worth $US100 Billion a year, due to sanctions on Turkiye. You are still getting their commodities but second hand, the middle man China, India and Saudi Arabia need to get their cut.
