An interesting situation has been alleged by the Russians in relation to the bridgehead the Ukrainians created across the ingulets river.

At present it is reported the Russians destroyed the original three pontoon bridges used by the Ukrainians and had encircled the Ukrainian forces on the southern side of the bridgehead. This forced the Ukrainians to act and send reserves to reconnect with and extract those forces, which apparently they were successful in doing, so far!!!

Now what is of interest is that reports indicate the Ukrainians lost a lot of tanks around the crossing at the Ingulets river and that the Russians have (allegedly) identified some of the destroyed tanks as Leopard 2's, which are German built and operated by a number of NATO member countries.
To date the Ukrainians have only used their own Soviet era tanks and those given by Poland being the T64 and T72 versions. POLAND does operate Leopards too.

Now, we wonder, if this report ends up being true/correct, who provided them and who was operating them. We know who had supplied the Soviet era tanks as they were openly reported but there has been no announcement regarding these alleged Leopard 2s.

Also if confirmed for those that don't know, it takes a minimum of six months to train a tank crew to any degree of proficiency, and the Leopards are notorious for being difficult vehicles to master.
    (Australia used to operate Leopards).

So the question beckons, who was operating them?
An intersting situation that has a little intrigue about it, or may just end up being totally false. I will be keen to see if any verification of the Russians allegation regarding these tanks emerges!
