You seem to be disturbingly confused with the well established concept of ‘might’.
It’s been around since the dawn of time. It is an accepted reality ( not fair by any means) which has underpinned international relations, economies, politics, territorial disputes etc for ever.
Ukraine is about to loose economically most important parts of the country. Once the referendum is finished, and the Constitution of Russia is in force in those newly acquired territories, Russia will defend its land by any means necessary. How Russia has acquired those territories is a completely different subject.

The same as any other country in the world would. Just ask the most trusted ally of the USA apart from London. Israel even goes a step further in defending itself. It launches preemptive strikes regularly, for the purpose of defence.

The situation on the ground is often poles apart from what’s morally and ethically accepted behaviour. It’s called reality.
