As far as the rule of the international law goes regarding sovereign countries territorial integrity goes, it ceased to be relevant in 2008.

Turkey has made sure, with their imminent annexation of the northern Syria ( not given the green light by the US yet, until the conflict in Ukraine is sorted), that the international law in regards to a territorial integrity is buried. Deep.
