Agreed Ukraine recent success is exactly why the russians are escalating now, their tiny expeditionary Special Military Operation force is outnumbered significantly by a mobilised Ukraine and they were able to exploit that numerical advantage attacking the lightly defended areas while their cities and infrastructure were intact delivering NATO supplies to the biggest army in Europe.

I suspect that kind of success might be harder to replicate now. Will we see a further Russian mobilisation in the winter? There has been some chatter that partial mobilisation was to utilise the most experienced reservists and develop the mobilisation process and training for further mobilisation. Will Belarus enter the battle?

Recent developments - Russia jamming the starlink system and the missile salvo yesterday have hit Ukraine pretty hard. Lets see if NATO blinks after the mid term election in the US the enthusiasm for war and self destruction of their own economy may wane and civil unrest with an energy crisis in EU and UK may see further changes in government there too.

Is russia done? Obviously not yet.
