Beijing is in a world of worry. They are paralysed with so many domestic issues they cannot possibly be contemplating taking on the West.
The magnitude of their issues is only slowly dawning on them. Xi is in a fight for his survival and he has distanced himself from Putin as best he can while still buying up on the cheap in Putin's fire sales. What they both have in common is a mania for killing potential successors and critics*, and the fanatical use of surveillance and brutality.

I'm aware of the points you mention. Also China's interception in various incidents of naval and air movements. Still not enough to get worried about it's bravado on China's part and it's being addressed for sure.

Putin is a controlled maniac. Outbreak of full scale nuclear war is unlikely and it's irresponsible to focus on it as it will just scare people needlessly.

Some people are pathologically depressed over this stuff because they read extremist scenarios and think the end of the world is imminent.

Try to not add to their despair.

    * some like Navalny survive because they'd become dangerous martyrs if dead.
