The government is preparing to deliver another round of military assistance to Ukraine on top of the $388 million it has already committed to the war effort.

Australian Defence personnel would travel to Europe to help train Ukrainian soldiers under a plan being considered by the federal government after Russia unleashed a barrage of missiles on Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities


Myroshnychenko said the British training program had provided “massive” support to the Ukrainian war effort. Countries including New Zealand, Sweden and the Netherlands have sent military instructors to the UK to help the training effort, but Australia has no far not participated in the program.

New Zealand has announced the deployment of 120 additional Defence Force (NZDF) personnel to the United Kingdom to train Ukrainian warfighters for their ongoing conflict with Russia.

The project includes more than 40 million New Zealand dollars ($25.4 million) in financial aid and includes 850 personnel. It follows the initial assignment of 30 NZDF troops in May to provide artillery training to Ukrainian forces.
