Imagine this for a hypothetical scenario:
You see a headline like this:
'US refuses to relinquish Alaska, Russia decries refusal as blatant provocation and clear aggression'.
And then China issues a statement:
China takes a strictly neutral stance, and advises that both sides must show restraint, and that the US should own up to its provocation in not relinquishing Alaska. Both sides should engage in respectful and peaceful dialogue about the path to US relinquishment of Alaska.
Not too far-fetched I reckon, when you look at the attitude of Russia and China today.
