Can the USUK just go from “do as I say” to being largely irrelevant? And what about internal pressures that have been created by sanctions and decades of promoting incompetence, printing money, pandering to corporations and drowning its own population in ever increasing debt while all the knowledge/skills were sold/lost to cheaper places?

First you stop making/doing stuff and then you lose the knowledge to make/do stuff. This is why the US/UK are now just “learning” that “real war” requires much more ammunition etc. It’s like they were just born yesterday and are 7 years old and are realizing the basic truths of life.

Turns out living in the world of Netflix/Youtube/Tik-tok/Facebook etc. has nothing to do with living in reality – as someone (in)famously said – “you cannot eat money and you cannot eat social media” (paraphrased). The whole western way of life is in danger of peril just by virtue of becoming irrelevant and this is going to be impossible for the leaders of the western world to acknowledge/accept/walk away from. See, Soviet Union may have been an “empire” but it is not like it’s citizens indulged, spent frivolously, had 2nd, 3rd and 4th homes all over the place, drove $100k trucks with $200k 5th wheels just for fun etc. etc. and losing all that was the end of the world in 1990s. Nay, that would be those America today where 1% increase in interest rate means recession and 2% means depression….
