Why though? Your proposing we put a fair chunk of our Airforce and Navy in a region of the world that would be considerably easier for an adversary to strike and then continue to make an advance on a weakened front? No, it's much more sensible to keep our military assets on the mainland and focus on improving our long range strike capabilities and how much damage we can inflict on naval targets at range, as without access to the seas any full scale invasion of the mainland is near impossible... a logistical nightmare.
