JFK sent out a fleet to intercept further deliveries. Both fleets confronted. John McCain was a fighter pilot on the deck of a carrier with his engine running. Plans were in place for a full nuclear attack on the USSR. A back down was negotiated. That was the closest the world came to nuclear war. The soviets removed their nukes from Cuba and the US removed their nuke missiles from Turkey. The US did threaten all out nuclear war. My primary school stopped so we could listen to the broadcasts.
You are trying to spin history. Russia is now encircled by US bases. It is not so important now with both submarine fleets being able to destroy every major city in each country and Europe.
Kennedy had a speech already written that announced the nuclear attack on the USSR.

Kennedy had a sperch prepared, but not to say that they started a war with the USSR.
So don't give me that BS about America starting a nuclear war, because they know what that would mean to America and the world. To start a nuclear war you need some crazy on control, so Kennedy would never have started a nuclear war.
That throws your explanation to the scrap heap of alterd events.
