They rebelled at the new illegal US neo-con installed regime that seized power in a fascist Right Sector led coup.
They didn't steal territory, they were already living there.
I remember Georgia. The government was bombing it's own citizens !
Lucky for them the Russians moved in and stopped a Georgian military bloodbath, saving many lives.
I think you could call it a genuine "human rights intervention."
