The south were relying on Britain to support them because Britain needed the souths cotton - Britain and particularly the cotton mills in the midlands took a principalled stand against slavery and gave moral support to the North .
Cost em a lot .
No russian shipps were needed as there was never any intention of Brittish support . Britain had already passed their own law against slavery .
I know Russia sent a couple of ships across for their own reasons but not awre they saw any active service n the war .
Certainly did not save the north and you won't be able to provise anything to support them doing that or even close .
