I Agree that China is the winner so far from this war: -Ukraine weakened -Russia weakened -European NATO Members weakened (Germany in strife & likely in recession#) -UK weakened (now in recession) -Canada..threading water -USA propagandists saying "Im alright Uncle Sam"
And China: -picking up after 2 years Covid lockdowns -US eye off the Chinese ball due to its Ukraine & Israeli war support -China lobbing cheap oil & Gas from Russia (hence low Chinese inflation)
While the Chinese GDP (PPP) is head and shoulders above Uncle Sam, there are indications that China will Pip him in Nominal GDP by 2030.
So in summary, the big challenge to Western Capitalism is that China , a 50/50 State Capitalist/Private Enterprise gig is, within a generation coming from the bottom of the economic barrel to cream the lot!
But the big question is: .....was Thucydidis right and has the trap been already set? Is it war for Uncle Sam or a humiliating retreat?
