Nuclear powered attack submarines may be less effective in the over water defence of Taiwan than a swarm of a thousand attack drones with 25kg warheads. Sea drones with torpedo and weapons launchers would be a problem for the invader.
Equal numbers of anti drone air, land and sea drones would be required and the whole armoury woul need regular AI software updates.
