My chief concerns re this ware are:
(a) that it doesn't escalate into a US-Russia war with Nukes
(b) That the inflationary impact on Aus is lessened by a prompt ceasefire/negotiated settlement
(c) That it wont impact our trade with China later
(d) that we are not swamped with Ukrainian refugees as Russia gains further Ukrainian territory .
That's not barracking for either side; just simply self interest.
There's wars all over Africa , in the M/E with disturbances closer to home in Myanmar
and Irian Jaya but we seem to be obsessed with the Ukraine & Israel/Palestine wars rather
than doing what we can in neighbouring Irian, PNG, The Solomons etc.IMO our primary
concern ought to be what's happening in our sphere of influence, not what's happening
the other side of the world . NATO and the US who have had a hand in this war ought
to be big enough to handle the war's consequences
I guess many are itching to see Aus boots on the ground in Ukraine ....the usual
riding shotgun for Uncle Sam....eh?
