Russia's "slow" move against Ukraine - a perspective.

Much has been said and parsing fact from propaganda isnt easy. But the "slow advance" and how Russia's war plans are going amiss take top line in the reporting on Russia's advance on Kyiv

    Two comparisons seem useful

One. The Nazis conquest of Ukraine in WW2. They started their conquest of Ukraine on 21 June 1941. As they did across Europe, they used "blitzkrieg" which caused huge civilian casualties.

It took them six weeks to reach Kyiv and another seven weeks to its surrender in September 1941. No restraint was shown - cities and civilian strongholds were bombed mercilessly.

Two - the US taking of Bagdhad. Took them 3 weeks and whilst the distance was a lot further if you use a similar distance to Kyiv...a comparable period would have been about 6 days.

So either things are going to plan or not. If not and Putin loses his mind, he could go full-on and as they did Aleppo...spare nothing and nobody.

Or peace breaks out and Putin loses face...hard to see him taking that route
