They aren't fighting "well" as they have already lost 20% of their country and most of their experienced soldiers in the East who were fighting since 2014 are killed/captured/wounded. On top of that at least 25% of Ukrainians have already left the country. All the Ukrainian soldiers who were trained were fighting in their own country since 2014 in the Eastern region and they have now lost that region. The soft western region is about to find out what war looks like and I suspect another 15-25% will leave the country in the coming months. Who is left? Idiots and ethnic Russians.
The ethnic Russians who stay behind in Ukraine will find a new level of wealth they never imagined before the war. If you think about 25% of the 2021 population of Ukraine all of a sudden doubling or tripling their net worth thanks to Putin they will be in some love period for a while.
