"The intention of the West was for Russia to engage in a military intervention in Ukraine"
That's odd, given 'the West' repeatedly warned Russia against invading, and repeatedly promised that they would enforce tough sanctions on Russia if it did invade, while the Putin fanboys swore black and blue any talk of war was propaganda and Russia would never invade.
The same people who promise that Russia is a 'great power' capable of defeating the West, also tell us that Russia is a helpless puppet who only invaded Ukraine because the West made it. You can't have it both ways.
